Constitutional Debate: Federalists vs Anti-Federalists

American Samoa Constitutional Convention 2010

American Samoa

Brief History

American Samoa has been a United States Territory since 1900. The American Samoa Government is modeled after that of the United States of America. Also, the American Samoa Constitution is modeled after the US Constitution. The Territory of American Samoa is under the jurisdiction of the Secretary of the United States Department of Interior.
The Constitutional Convention of 2010 was the 4th Constitutional Convention aimed at revisiting and amending the American Samoa Constitution. Many debates and diplomatic resolutions and compromises were discussed.
They were later put on the ballot that same year but none were passed. The Constitutional Convention of 2010 is proof that the ideas of the US Constitution allow the rules of government to grow with the changing times and serve as a model for other governments foreign and domestic.
